In March my life changed forever as I became the mother to a beautiful little girl. As all new parents know, a good night's sleep is a very important luxury and I quickly learned that swaddling was a key ingredient in our good night's rest. However, as my daughter grew, swaddling became more and more difficult. She outgrew blanket after blanket and I began looking for other alternatives. I made larger blankets which worked for a while, but were not an ideal solution.  Then one day I decided to try a new approach. I knew I could make something better, something easier to put on, that would help keep my daughter's arms inside to keep her from waking herself up. I thought about different design options and then I made my first Sleep Pea Pod. What can I say? IT WORKED! I wouldn't have thought something so simple in design could have such a great result. but it did. Why do I love it? It keeps my daughter warm and secure while still allowing her enough wiggle room to move her arms around. Sometimes she will have her hands tucked inside the pocket sweetly beneath her chin and other times she will have her arms relaxed down by her side. This freedom of movement is also preparing her for the next step as I eventually plan on using the sleep pea pod in the arms-free mode as she grows and no longer startles herself awake.

Why did I decide to bring this product to the public? As I talked with other mothers I discovered that I was not the only one who had these frustrations, and in fact many moms had entirely different frustrations that my product would address. For instance, children who wouldn't keep blankets on and even one who ended up with his blanket wrapped around his neck. Thankfully the mother caught it before anything terrible happened. I knew that I could help them and began making Sleep Pea Pods for other people. I also knew when I looked at my daughter, that I could not go back to my previous job as a teacher, I had made the choice to become a stay at home mom which afforded me time and opportunity to create this small business you now see before you.
